Pinchy - the coverage last year tends to start at 1.30 or 2.00 and carry on til close of play at 4/4.30. It isn't as comprehensive as Eurosport from that point of view, but you tend to see most of the main action, unless you get a breakaway right at the beginning of the day. Mountain stages and time trials seem to get longer/more comprehensive coverage too, or did last year.

I'd like Pinot or Bardet to surprise a few people. The race needs a French hero again.

excellent - thanks Chris - will look it up on ITV4 then - which is handy as I can have it running in the background on ITVplayer whilst at work :)

Pinchy - if you are near a pc then just google "live streaming" and you will be able to find live coverage. I do it all the time with sports i want to watch. Never pay for sky!

Pinchy, I'm like you and find the ITV4 coverage quite adequate. I really miss the commentary from Eurosport but that changed a while back when David Duffield retired anyway. It's better if you can record it then you can fast forward the ads and boring bits. They usually increase the hours on special days like when in the mountains so you could have 6 hours to catch up on when you get in. Then record the highlights programme in the evening because if anything special happened during the day they will have the post race interviews etc on the subject. :)

Hopefully ITV4 will not have Liggett and Sherwen making things up, missing things and mis-identifying riders left right and centre as usual. Maybe Boulting and Millar will get the gig. If not it will be a combination of Sporza and muted coverage via cyclingfans or steephill.tv for me. Even flemish commentary that I can barely comprehend will be better than Kirby on Esport.

Kirby is outweighed by Sean Kelly for me.

I'm still weighing it up. Love Sean, but Carlton is hard to put up with for hours on end. Despite myself I thought Millar was very good on the itv Daupine coverage
