I've run round a few normally with Becca as my guide ;-)

I really like them good atmosphere, great feedstations and Birmingham Canal canter was great facility :-)

I haven't done any of the events but am currently reading Julie Welch's book, Out on your Feet, and feeling quite inspired.

Malvern Midsummer Marathon next Saturday. One of their toughest maybe? Then pop over to Cheltenham on Sunday :-)

I like LDWA events, very good value for money particularly if you manage to add a mile or two to the advertised distance ;-)

Despite being on a break from longer races I've done my local event the past two years off of minimal training. However this time around I may well have rekindled the desire to add a few more marathons / ultras to the collection.

Unfortunately there's a dearth of events anywhere near me.

I did the LDWA featured in the Julie Welch book (Yoredale 100 in 2008). LDWA 100's are like no other event I've done. Brilliant weekends of walking / jogging / running / limping (41hours + of walking and limping in my case);-)

:)

I'm reading it on Kindle. It's really good. Julie Welch's "Long Distance Information" is one of my favourite running-related books.

I've noticed that a few people on here do LDWA events, and thought I might start a thread to get so...
