A mate of mine rang me to invite me over one evening for pizza a few beers. Just before hanging up he added "Oh, and could you bring some dog food with you? I'm completely out and poor old Rover* is starving."

Knowing Stuart as I did, I'm certain that the only reason he invited me was to save him having to go out for dog food.

However, I too am very lazy, didn't have a dog, and couldn't be bothered to stop to buy some. I did, however have a cat, so I took a tin of cat food instead.

Rover wasn't that hungry that he ate the cat food.

*Not his real name, which temporarily escapes me

I was going to contribute that my youngest daughter walked the mile from her flat to the restaurant where we had lunch on Saturday with eL Bee! and me, but got the bus back "because it's uphill". But I see she's well outclassed.

With misplaced affluence, I 'phoned a cab and asked for a curry to be picked up from the outlet and delivered to my house.

* Not recent history ;) *

I've been in my chair watching TV with the remote out of reach by about 2m. I've then got out my phone, downloaded the app which controls my digibox and installed that just so I can change the channel.

(I'm another one for an unwashed coffee mug at work - it's only black coffee, no sugar, no milk, and no-one ever drinks from it but me. It gets a wash about once every 12 weeks just to keep my office neighbour happy)

i rarely wash my cup for tea at work. But i reason that it's like when they age wine in oak barrels used for previous vintages: the stains on the barrels only add to the flavour of the next wine. If it's good enough for chateauneuf du pape....

Some neighbours regularly (several times a week) take a taxi up to McDonald's (less than a mile away) and come back with food about fifteen minutes later.
