I ordered a 2010 map and routebook from the website and they arrived today. Well worth £12 for anyone entering next year...it will be great to use the same map in training as we'll be using on the day.

Im thinking about entering for this, only got one marathon under my belt (3:19 abingdon 2008) and run 600 to 700 miles a year. I know that running this will be completely different to road running but to help me decide whether to go for it then i have a few questions 1) Is it possible to train up for this between now and July starting from my current base ? 2) Work / family commitments will limit me to 3 runs a week - is there a training programme to match this? 3) Are there some races / events that i should be looking to complete as part of training? 4) Can i go straight in for the 100 miles or is that really daft ? (I need to decide if i would rather drop out after 51 miles than finish the 50 mile race thinking i could have gone further) 5) Where can i get a list of essential equipment ? Any advice on this much appreciated - cheers

My only advice, the 100 is only for hard core mentalists who are at home on the fells and rack up well over 2,000+ miles a year.
The 'fun' run (50 miler) is within most marathoner's capability.
