I've blogged but it's a bit of an epic read. It might take longer to read than it did to do the race.

Congrats to everybody who finished - or even attempted it! I dropped out a Braithwaite - no way fast enough and I was only going to make my foot worse.
With all the problems with prep for this - I was still on three different antibiotics and steriod drops for my ears - it was good to see somebody had a sense of humour and gave me No 13!

I'll be back too. And back to my usual shoes.
Feeling pretty good today apart from sore feet. Legs are a bit tired but otherwise OK. Not sure if this makes me pleased that it was not fitness that was the issue, or more p'ed off that something is simple as sore feet caused a DNFwhen otherwise I was still in good shape.

Cheers Flip. I had been treating the L100 as a stepping stone to the UTMB but after the weekend it has grown in stature for me. Whether I go for it in 2012 or 2013 (and let's face it, it's going to be 2012 ;-)) it's certainly the next big target for me. What a phenomenal event!

Flanker, after doing the 50 it's feet that are my biggest fear about the 100. I didn't get any blisters but my feet were sore by the time I was descending into Coniston. I couldn't imagine going another 50 miles (and 50 tougher miles at that!). To be honest it scares me silly. I have a month to forget about it until 2012 entries open though.
