In fact I have entered as a pair with a running club mate - so that's two people to get lost together lol

But just to make the 50 miles a trifle harder I am considering suggesting doing the route as a three-legged school sports day type race ha ha ;) er NOT

Hey guys

I'm a long-term lurker but it's time to put my head above the parapet...

I'm probably nuts, but I'd really like to do this. I'm a Lake District girl and I'm gonna turn 30 this year and I'd like it to go with a bang.

I've only done one mara (the FLM) but do you think a lot of determination and training could get me round this?

Or are these the musings of a madwoman?

Qx

Oh, I mean the 50, obviously. Even I'm not mad enough to consider the 100!

Oster - enter!

Loads of time to train - train smart etc

I have a mad Uncle who does loads of Ultras eg Marathon des Sable and the Yukon artic ultra and he says "it's all in your head" - I believe him up to a point but obviously physical aspects to train as well. But on the whole I am new to this and it will be tremendous fun and something to bore grandchildren with for years.

Also I am 40 next year and as you say do it with a bang :)

hi Qster - If you are already used to long days on the Fell - and yes with some good training, there is absolutely no reason that you shouldn't be fine doing this.
It's basically a long walk with some occasional running :)

Cheers guys! :-)

Yeah, I'm kind of assuming that there's gonna be a good deal of walking involved!

I'm in the perfect place for training though - plenty of opportunities for recce-ing!
