garburn is big rocks on the way up, and loose scree and small rocks on the way down. The Kentmere side is far more runnable (if you ignore the slight matter of the ascent :-))

I'm heading up to the Lakes for the recce from Ambleside to Coniston on Sunday. It'll be my first time out on the course so really looking forward to getting out there. Won't be touching Garburn until the organised weekend at the end of June.

Self imposed recce day today. A few of us did Howtown to Mardale head then up Gatesgarth pass - bloody hell a helicopter is the best way up that! - then we came across the tops of Harter fell, High Street and Raise back to Fusedale beck which I must say was much more enjoyable running down rather than going up ;)

All in all a fab 20 miles running, marching etc

Also saw quite a few runners around Hawsewater and Fusedale - any of you guys?

Had a cracking day out on the last 15 miles of the route today and the nutrition lectures on Saturday night were excellent. I feel quite inspired to cut out the crap and try to loose another stone before the race.

Just had a weeks outdoors training course in wales for a work leadership course but only managed a few proper run but was good to run on some proper hills.

Building up the miles slowly and have dropped a stone since the begining of the month so hopefully will be lighter and faster than I was last year as I want ti complete it this year.

Won't be long now!
