Alice/Dana - ah yes it separated out aspects of Rufus' character. So, not just understanding more about a character by the way they react to other characters, but having the same foil in two different roles.

I see there is a film "Kindred", but since it's described as "Plagued by mysterious hallucinations, a pregnant woman suspects that the family of her deceased boyfriend has intentions for her unborn child." probably not very true to the book.
