Amazon no longer allow you to buy books for kindle off old kindles or on the apple or android apps. Does anyone have any experience of the new kindles? Google tells me I can buy books on a kindle paper white but it doesn’t say anything on Amazon itself! In laws want to upgrade! |

Mr Ness and I buy our books straight off the Amazon website, Pix. There's an option in your account to say where you want the book sent to. I used to use the Kindle app on my ipad but now I'm using my Samsung Galaxy tablet.

Oh. I see. Don't know if the newer versions of Kindles will give that option. Hopefully another Fetchie might know. It would be a shame to buy new tech if it doesn't do what they want.

FWIW I use Kobo - the devices are as good as a Kindle, plus less money going to Amazon  They've always let you borrow e-books from your local library too, which Kindle didn't use to (maybe they do now?).

I can still buy books on my old kindle - at least I could a week (ish) ago before I went on holiday. I haven't tried since.
