Has anybody done this race in previous years?

I have been planning to do it for years now, but every year I wimp out as a result of the weather or lack of fitness, or both. This year I am determined to do it. Unless it snows.

How hard are the (2?) hills? Should I plan to walk from Borrowdale to Honister?

Its been a few years since I've done it but the hills imho are definitely hilly enough to justify walking especially when you find that you can walk quicker than other people running. Be careful on the downhills as they can trash your quads and enjoy the scenery because its very pretty.

Here is my Garmin from 2013 race connect.garmin.com as i remember i went off too fast just about got up to Honister running but had to walk up newlands, it's a great race but does mash your quads and everything else on the descents. I am missing it these year to focus on VLM training.
Enjoy

Agreed FR views are fantastic , and 2013 was exceptional weather , I had an icecream after and then spent week in lakes including sunbathing on top of a very busy catbells. I have also done it with snow and ice on ground but has always been a fine running day
