That's a very tempting offer!

I'd love to visit NZ!

I had a paddle on the lough this afternoon. It was like a millpond in front of the bungalow, but as soon as I got out of the shelter of the islands it was a bit choppier. It was quite hard work into the wind, but I kept going, knowing I’d have the benefit of it behind me for most of the way home.

Nope.

I had my picnic at a nice little bench in a large bay. By the time I paddled back round the point and into the main part of the lough the wind had dropped right down.

10 miles of paddling altogether though, which is my longest paddle, so I am happy enough with that.

HowFar?
The bench where I had my tea and sandwiches is only about 2 miles from my bungalow by road, but there is a very long peninsula to paddle around so it’s 5 miles away on the water.

I need to get winter / cold weather gear, so I can keep going as it is much colder now. Some of it is pretty pricey tho. :-) G

The canoe was a good morning's activity on a fine day in December with some family. Even though it was cold if you weren't getting wet it was fine. -) G

There were 2 lads surfing paddle boards when I was walking by the sea yesterday. Looked like good fun but it was a bit cold. I suspect I’m a fair-weather paddler these days :)

I'd love to try paddle boarding, though would prefer to start out in somewhat warmer weather...so falling in won't be quite so glacial! ;)
