I'll be there too, being mildly irritated by the non-standard distance

It was fun. I was still in the luggage queue when the hooter went. I was rubbish. 4 mins slower than last year. Fun in the pub after though!

Thursday night was very rainy and quite muddy in parts. Good fun though, that was our third year and I think we'll be back next year!

We had a team of 36 that ran on Wednesday evening. It was my first time and I was the only one to run from our part of the company. The company pays our entry fees but no hospitality is arranged, we had a quick drink after the race before heading to the pub.

I'm a slow coach and managed to get my ex colleague, he's moved to a different part of the business, round in just over 35 minutes. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it as I ran without any technology whatsoever. Being in the yellow start meant that we didn't cross the start line until 18 minutes which meant that the winner was already home! All of the team members indicated that they would do it again next year and I'm going to try and drum up some more support from my office so hopefully we 'll have 37 next year!

Who's in again this year? We're doing the Weds for a change but it has been a real struggle getting people to sign up. We had around 100 last year (89 after drop-outs and no-shows), only about 40 this year with three weeks to go until the registration deadline.

This was on my radar (Thursday) but my employer has insisted on "£65 minimum sponsorship per runner" - presumably to bolster the figure it can publish as charitable donations for the year as it's all channelled via 3 corporate Justgiving pages - so I'm out. Nothing against charities, it's just not appropriate to ask people to sponsor me to go running.

I'm doing it again. Bummer about your employer insisting on sponsorship!
