SpicedApple, is that the jammybilly ones? I want to go along to those at some point, they look fun!

Toadie, I think they're officially Lothian Running Club - not quite sure. Didn't know you knew JammyBilly, too - I still haven't made it to his speed sessions either! Still planning on going though. He's great, and I'm sure his sessions will be, too. |

Thank you SA - I like the sound of the session. Bedford Harriers do another kind. You partner up, and run in opposite directions round the lake, one at pace, the other gently. When you meet your partner, you switch roles.

I've done that one - it was called 'Paarlauf' (even though we did it in Scotland, not Germany). It's good fun, especially because slow runners don't feel they get left behind.

Well not exactly mind messing but we just did 1k * 3 + 6 * 200, 1k at sub 10k pace, 200s at a really good lick, 90 sec recovery between each.

Here's one my club mates did tonight....brutal!!! 2x2k (approx 2x7 mins at half marathon pace) 2x1mile (approx 2x5 mins at 10k pace) 2x1k (approx 2x3 mins at 5k pace) 2 x 800 (approx 2x2.30 at 3k pace) Same pace as last week for each of the different distances with approx 2.00 recoveries between reps. |

I put on the MP3 player and bang out intervals according to the speed of the track. I have a good mix of tracks on there, and varying lengths. More fast than slow. Means sometimes I have to bang out a fast 10 or 11 minutes, and I don't know how long the interval's going to be until I start it. Not strictly an interval session, more a musical fartleks thing. I occasionally throw one into the middle or end of a long run as well. You can have that for free so long as you name it after me I'll be bigger than Bart Yasso! |
