I have the hot peak which I also wear in the rain as it keeps the rain off my glasses. I like it and would buy another when the time comes.

DD, have you got a link to your "holes in Inov8s" thread? I'd like to take a look. Sorry for going off-topic, but I've managed to wear out the uppers on some Roclite 295s and 309s (holes in the front) way before the sole was ready to say goodbye. I think Inov8 have completely changed the design now, this must have been a known fault.
