I also use a Garmin but taking advice from seasoned pro's, I'm turning off most the functions. All I want to see on screen is my time. I'm also going to use KM markers as the guide (rather than miles) as this is apparently a lot easier (they tend to come and go a lot quicker).
I'll try and remember the key splits but not get too caught up with it all. 10km, 15km, 20k, 30km, that kind of thing..

they have mile markers and 5km markers ... I use both!
Jigs more than happy to do a little sub 3 pace group .... if I can handle the pace till the end

Contro , I totally agree as I've been told this several times by various people, but I'm not going to say I won't try because it's a tough course.
If I do sub 3 then brilliant, if I don't, then hey! at least I tried. ...and there's always another marathon
