yes Jigs there is one of the decommissioned aircraft carriers over by pier 17. Not at pier 17 (south street seaport) but near there i think. There is a tall ship at pier 17 though (south street) and some good shopping and good restaurants at south street as well.
Oh also wall street area to go see.

your welcome jigs....i think i've covered just about all the touristy type things you could do in a day....i think...
i would suggest not having too much american pizza as the grease may clog your arteries for good....also for those never been to the states before watch the sugar content on drinks...we do like to pack quite a bit into drinks....find a running shop and get some new trainers for the exchange rate as it's still quite good.... and enjoy the christmas decorations as I'm sure the decorations will start going up around that time. If you go into stores, there will certainly be christmas orientated items for sale. And there should be leftover holloween candy on sale as well if you're lucky to get some on sale.
have i helped yet??? hope so

Oh yeah, I forgot that sort of contrary to oceanspirit's post we loved going to the really famous pizza place right under the Brooklyn Bridge (after the marathon, that is!), and straight after that we went for dessert to probably the most famous place for cheescake in NY, Leo's, also in Brooklyn. I was a bit disappointed by the cheesecake, to be honest - and it was scarily big - but the original 50s decor - and clientele - is brilliant.
Now I really wish I was coming with you all!

Cheers OS, maybe I'll give that one a miss then. I'd like to return one day and spend a week over there to have time to take everything in.

I like the idea of the RV on the ESB on Monday. I am there from Wednesday till Monday and have been trying to think of ways to see the sights whilst minimising time spent on feet. I came up with open top bus ride, helicopter ride and seeing Broadway show!! I really want to see Ellis Island too as last time I was in the States the museum was just about to be opened.
