Anyone got any tips on sightseeing? I get there at midday on the Friday, so by the time I've sorted the hotel out and visited the expo, that won't leave me much time, so I've got all day Saturday and half a day on Monday to see the sights, which means I'll miss a lot of things. On the Friday evening I guess I'll walk to Times Square and have a look around there and maybe do a night bus tour of the City, not sure how else to tackle it though.

it depends on what you want to see moscow....statue of liberty, ellis island for the history
greenwich village for the shopping and culture central park for central park - there are museums around there, but they cost money 5th avenue and madison ave for shopping rockerfella center to go watch the people on NBC and the news and possibly be on TV when they come outside
empire state building and chrysler building - but you really need to get there at 8am if you don't want to stand in a queue for hours
that's all i can think of for right now - hope that helps!!!!

I liked Nolita's boutiques, the helicopter ride (Liberty Helicopters) and the Empire State. We went at night and there were no queues at all.

Also on the porridge thing I've heated milk for Oats So simple in a travel kettle that I was prepared to chuck away (it survived) and also had instant just-add-water porridge that looks like a tub of Pot Noodle. At NY I actually ate nowt apart from a bite of bagel on Staten Island as I got insanely nervous. But I collapsed at the end so ignore that.

SoL is an absolute must for me, as is Times Square. I'd like to see the ESB but suffering from vertigo I won't be wanting to go up it!
I'm considering going to Madison Square Garden to see the Knicks play on the Sunday evening, I'm not a big basketball fan but it's something to do I suppose.
Grand Central Station Dakota Apartments Toys R Us to get something for the boy Yankee Stadium
Central Park, I'll get to run that during the marathon so that will be one ticked off, I'll maybe stick around and have a look about after the race as well.

Go to Central Park the day after the marathon when you can get a free NY Times there which has the marathon results and thus your name in it as well as getting your medal engraved etc if you want it. Grand Central is pretty cool, yes.
