BW, you're a ledge. And flying straight home after a trans Atlantic sub 4hr marathon to "to be back at the desk tomorrow pm" is hardcore. But hey, you're the geezer who went back to work each day after running maras in The Great Barrow Challenge... I'm hardly surprised.

Really enjoyed watching that - just watched on Sky+ so I could fast forward through the adverts. I would love to run NY 2012 - best get out and buy a lottery ticket as that is the only way my wallet will stretch to it next year.

If you're hoping to enter New York under the qualifying standards, it's worth noting that next year is the last time you've got a chance in hell, unless you're bloody good. They're tightening the qualifying times from 2013 entry. eg. To get guaranteed entry in 2012, I currently need a 3:23 marathon or a 1:36 half. In 2013, I'd need a 3:00 marathon or a 1:27 half. Ouch. nycmarathon.org |

At least I've got 1 rejection already so as long as I keep applying, will be in by 2014 at the latest through that method. Shame they're stopping it after this year as it's nigh on impossible through the ballot (although, as with London, some people do seem to get lucky a lot). Only 9 days to go before entries open. |
