Just in case anyone hasn't seen it - here's the elevation chart ingnycmarathon.org

I have done the course (once) and it was a total disaster. (I had food poisoning. Very slow progress. Salt sachets in the first aid tent. Tears at mile 16...Not pretty). So, I do remember it as a tough course but I was an ill girl. What sticks in my head is that I seemed to be running downhill a lot and the front of my legs & knees got sore and wobbly.

Even through all that though there was *the* most awesome atmosphere :-)

No idea on the total ascent, I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than little old me will be by soon :-)

Log in to the entrant log in and there is a registration form button under your entry number. It's all in there.

Apparently we need to print this and take it with us!

40097 starting 10:10. So is that like when they think you'll cross the line? I assume it's chip to chip regardless!

olde english
2256 9:40.... with a 6am manhattan bus to the start....may have to cut back on the pre-race cocktails. How's everybody else getting to the start, race buses?

Had a nozy round the routes found - has a fetch hill rating of 486, ascent 249m, descent 262m http://www.fetcheveryone.com/route-109765

In context Nottingham has 483, ascent 247m, descent 253m. Though the numbers on my garmin clock bigger than this public route and I think the 1st half of notts is pretty evil if you’re having a crack at a time
http://www.fetcheveryone.com/route-302908

Edinburgh downhill and speedy apart from the hail and arctic wind = 327, ascent 167m descent 216m.

in summary..hell we wont even notice, there's a 140 bands on route and cheerleaders!!
