so, who's got their 16 week schedule drawn up ? Did mine the other day? Looking forward to a relaxing two week holiday (starting tomorrow) then getting back into it when I get back.

What times are people aiming for?

i think i will try sub 3 again, but i will be my third marathon in 5 weeks so I am not sure what i will have left in the tank.

My trianing is mostly focused on the kent 50 mile challenge so clocking up miles like a diesel engine!

I am hoping for a sub 4. I will start my marathon training at the end of the month, with 2 weeks at the Albufera nature reserve in Mallorca. (mozzie spray at the ready)

aiming for around 3.20 - 3.30. First one. Don't know what to expect - other than pain.

Hello everyone - I've decided to do this one too and just managed to get a charity place. First race outside the UK for me.

Hope the first week or so of training has gone well for everyone.

Got a London place for 2009 (deferred from this year as I got injured) where I hope to do sub 3. NY will be a more leisurely build up race (3:10 ish)

Good man PA - might see you there - big contingent from Fetch going over, with various charities. Will prob be aiming for roughly the same time as you, all being well...

Garmin arrived an hour ago - waiting for it to charge. Geekishly excited.

I'm in for this one, had to pull out of London after suffering a stress fracture, but because I was running for Macmillan I managed to sap my place for one in NY, so injury permitting (Running but still a couple of niggles), I'll be there running my first marathon in hopefully around 3:30.

I'm only there for three days so I'm looking to do one or two of these two hour bus tours, I've always wanted to go to NY and want to fit in as much of the sights as possible in the equivalent of a day and a half, given the other stuff I have to do when I'm there!

In week two of my training schedule now.

welcome guys MF and Pants! 102 days till the race! It is getting closer!!! :-)

It will be my second NYC marathon, wanting to completely delete some bad memoris from last year by finally going sub 3 there. (I did 3.00.17 last year!)

Any tips for the race itself? How bad are the last few miles in terms of gradient? I've heard some horror stories but on the other hand I've heard it's not actually too bad.
