Nellers hopefully the hurt is from exertion on the erg rather than pulling another bloody sock on!

On the Fetch training entry you can add useful bespoke fields such as "how I hurt myself today"

Hope you're ok mate?

Good to see you're able to run more Andy! I'm not at all envious πŸ€₯πŸ˜‘

Good grief Nellers, you've been in the wars lately. Wishing you a speedy recovery from the lurgy and back into action soon. And have you considered going barefoot for a while? :-)

Some UT2 work for me today, 2 x 6000m instead of 3 x 4000m. Overall pace came out a little slower but was right on the 2k + 25 mark so it seems I have finally got my hr bands more or less where they should be.

Tried July's Cross Team Challenge today 10 x 199m with one min rests, it's been a long time since I did any sprint work and I bailed on the 8th rep. Might try again tomorrow and then repeat it a few times during the month as it's quite a fun session (well maybe not much fun after the third rep πŸ˜‚)

Well done Muttley, good progression from the 3x4k!

Is there a reason its 199m rather than 200?

The challenge was chosen by Whitby Friendship ARC and it's a nod to the steps that lead to the abbey - "This is a Dracula themed distance; there are 199 steps up to the ruins of Whitby Abbey where some of the action was set in the novel"

It's one of those sessions where each rep only takes about 25 strokes, and during the first few reps you get to 15 strokes and think "ah I've only got 10 more strokes to do" a little later on you get to 15 strokes and think " bloody hell I can't believe I've still got 10 more strokes to do" πŸ˜‚

I got a Route of the Day picture on those steps just after Lockdown 1.0 a couple years ago, when that pandemic thing was going on. It was so weird being in Whitby with so many people that didn't understand about social distancing, when we'd been at DEFCON 1 for so many months.

Did parkrun timekeeping today and didn't make time to row later on, which was careless.

Great photo Andy, it's a lovely town although we also found it far too busy last time we visited.

Did a classic Pete Plan session today 5 x 1500m with 5 min rests, I hovered around the low 1:55's and a faster last rep brought the average down to 1:54.9 so happy with that. It was warm out on the patio today πŸ₯΅

I remember doing that 5 x 1500 as part of the Wolverine plans. It’s a tough one! Well done.

A nice simple 18 minutes at r20 for me in the shed this morning before it gets too hot. Held a decent average pace for it at this stage and my back felt fine throughout.

Nice going chaps. Looks like you're not too far off getting back to normal, Nellers.

For me this morning 3 x 1000 with 3 mins rest (Beginners PP week 4). This is my absolutely least favourite session and I usually struggle. But to my surprise I came in slightly ahead of target pace, even bleeding the pace a little in each rep to avoid being too far ahead with an eye to future targets. Felt good.

I've learned an interesting tip for the PM5. If you don't like a standing start for the first rep (I don't, out of respect for my back) you can go new workout - intervals - variable to set an initial time, say 30 secs, then no rest, then the main session (distance or time), repeating for the required number of reps.
