Nice work! I reckon it’d be worse than a running a marathon Craggy. Sitting for that long can’t be easy!

I’ve got (loose) aspirations of a half and full on the rower. Maybe not this year though - I’m concentrating on running still.

Thanks folks, and well done all round for lots if decent Sunday rowing. 5x5k is a tough one, although I'm a bit jealous of those 2 minute breaks.

I sat on a wee folded-up towel - definitely better. I've got some new blisters on my hands though. Some of the r17 and r18 rates saw an extra hamstring stretch for a second ir two, before finishing the recovery stroke & I'm sure that helped.

Definitely easier than running a marathon. My warm down continues due to 3 tonnes of logs being delivered just after I finished rowing, so those hamstrings are getting the full workout today.

I can see me giving my Half PB a go some time this spring but a Full is definitely not on the cards. Nothing but admiration for you giving it a go though, mate.

15k done tonight as warm up, 3 x 14 minutes @ r20, warm down. Knackered now!

Carpeed that Diem this morning with 51 minutes @ r18before work. I like the way this Rathburn plan builds duration in manageable chunks. 51 minutes didn’t feel like a long time today (and it’s not compared to rowing a marathon!) but to me I think it would have done even a couple of weeks ago.

Well done Nellars! Some great distances and paces there.

Alas, stuck at work until about 8pm, so might have to chalk this up as another recovery day...

Hope your hammy's and backside aren't too sore Andy! You deserve a few days off after your marathon and log lifting, enjoy the rest!

Nice metres Nellers, you know you're making good progress when an early morning 7+ miler feels very manageable!

3 x 5k tonight at rate 22, 24 & 26 with 90 sec rests, it was nice to go at a higher rate for a change! I left a nice puddle of sweat on the patio, it was warm out there tonight!

Missed your post ES-335, a half marathon on the rower is definitely doable during your running off-season. Have you got any running races lined up this year?

Hi Craggy - I’m not sure I’m a runner yet - let alone have an off season!

I’ve got a Marathon planned in April this year, I’ll start the training in ernest for it next month.

I think a half on the rower is doable with a bit of effort - I’m comfy (although not that powerful in terms of stroke) with 60mins R20 at the moment.

I’ll probably look at another running marathon in the Autumn or a short ultra.

Mate, if you head out the door and go for a run you ARE a runner. There is no qualifying standard or entry exam! Good luck with the marathon plans too.

Struggled to get myself out into the shed this evening. I just felt knackered by the time I got home from work. Eventually I did get out there though and I'm so glad I did. 4 x 12 minutes @ r20 done. It's starting to feel a lot easier than it did to maintain r20 for those later pieces. HR is starting to come down too.

You're definitely a runner ES! Good luck with your marathon, my partner is doing the Manchester marathon in April.

If you can comfortably do 60 mins then it won't take long to build up to a half (about one day if you're Andy 😁)

I used to love running in the autumn, hope you find a good marathon/ultra!

A nice easy recovery row tonight of 7000m, av he 12
