I have Tanita scales and weigh on stone tiled floor in bathroom. They seem pretty consistent. Too consistent at the moment as am on a plateau at 163 lbs for the last 7 days! Mind you the chocolate Easter bunnies will not have helped. Went to the physio on Friday as right knee is giving me jip and he diagnosed worn meniscus and gave me strengthening exercises. Tried to run on trails yesterday and ended up walking. Very painful. Am going to rest for a couple of days and do my knee exercises even though I find physio stuff very boring!

I had my first proper bowel movement in weeks this morning, then weighed myself.
Even though I have pigged out over Easter, just ate the last hxb, I seem to be where I was when I last weighed myself. Pleased with that!

My friend lost a lot of weight (very low carb and lots of g&t!) pre covid and was enjoying the gym

Then wfh has regained it all plus some (and she was a big girl) and doesn’t do anything

Decided she needed to lose weight to return to work (we don’t know when) so is doing 100% slim fast shakes. So about 800 calories which is about 1800 too few.

She was thrilled today to have lost 8.8lb. Says she’s going to do 2 weeks then “normal” and I know she’ll regain when “normal” and told her she needs more calories but she wont have it.

She did 2 weeks on eggs only a couple of years ago! Lost loads and regained it almost straight away.

Sad.

EP, sad is the word! People who diet like that actuay seriously mess up their digestive system and will be prone to gain not loose as the body is triggered into storing nutrients as it feelsstarved.

She wants to spend 12k on surgery!
If she had the money she would seriously do it too

One of those gastric reductions?
Sorry to be harsh, but has she thought about counseling?

It is a very bad idea! She lost weight before, she can do it again!

I agree with Hann that is a bad idea and you can over eat and burst the staples! Better to eat healthy and exercise even if slower.

On that note I am back down but still 2lb up on 2 weeks ago.

I know it's very sad and frustrating as she just wants a quick fix without solving the issues (which include far too much alcohol)
