Kingston upon Thames is getting its second junior parkrun - meanwhile no 'grown-up' parkruns are completely within the borough! (Kingston is mostly in Richmond despite its name).

Sutton is in a similar position - half of Roundshaw Downs, and no junior - rumours of a new adult one at some point though.

Hillingdon has none. They are worried about car parks, apparently, and think that people within the borough are well served by parkruns in neighbouring boroughs. Thanks for that.

LindsD - really surprised about LB Hillingdon. I know the area well, I grew up in neighbouring Hounslow and my mother in law used to live in Northwood. It's a huge borough with lots of open space. I would have thought one at Ruislip Lido would have gone down well.

You are right. There are loads of good places with ample parking. I have no idea what the council's issue is. It's a particular bugbear for me, as ED of a parkrun very close to the boundary but in Ealing. Of course we love people to come to us, but we were struggling a bit with numbers even before the pandemic.

New parkrun announced in Cheddar, going along the Strawberry line. Cue jokes about cheese and strawberries not mixing.
And I had thought I only had one left to do in Somerset...

The Cheddar one is my doing, sorry! I was out on the path only this morning helping to cut back the vegetation. Looking forward to the launch, whenever that might be 🤷‍♂️

Thank you! 😀

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
