I'd certainly ban all mention of Christmas in adverts*, Christmas music in shops, etc before December 1st. But if councils are to put up lights and if shops are to decorate their premises, I would make it compulsory to mention the word 'Christmas' in what they were doing, and not be afraid to mention it.

*except the mentioning of the Fetch Festive Calendar, of course!

Once a song has been written, it will be illegal to produce a new version of it. It will be doubly illegal for the new version to be more sentimental, and doubly illegal on top of that if the song is question is in any sense a Christmas song.
