I had a pain in the arches of my left foot 10 days ago, and just as I thought the pain had gone away.. last Monday - now I have had these extremely painful burning / stinging sensation under my 2nd / 3rd toes of my left foot. I have a feeling these two pains are related and the pain does reduce when I adapt my running form (which often means I have to heel strike). I feel the pain 2 miles into a run, and so I just take it easy and prevent putting pressure on the toe area. I also still feel the pain in the arches of my left foot when I walk around.

Has anyone had this before or have any information on what I may have?

Yes me! Went to see a foot/gait specialist for free at the Outdoors shoes in Birmingham a few years ago. It is something to do with your tendons/ligaments and your feet spreading too much when you put pressure on them ie run. The medics on here will give you a proper diagnosis. I got custom made orthotic insoles which stopped my feet hurting (and also my hips and back). Worth every penny for me. Definitely worth trying some over-the-counter ones first.

I had a similar issue and it was diagnosed as mortons neuroma, orthotics and a steroid injection cured me, worth every 30,000 pennies.
