Last year there were lots of well meaning (and mostly welcome) locals with hoses.

And one old dude with a jet washer. Nearly took my fucking face off.

I'll be interested to see whether the early start time has an impact on the number of runners this year.

I for one won't be there and I've run it every year since 2002.

Bit ironic that they have bought that start time forward to avoid the, erm, hottest part of the day. Good luck getting out of the car park if they use the same field as previous years.

LOL :-) Hopefully they'll try and make more use use of the "proper" car park.

Have a good run BTW.

It's raining in Grimsby right now so looks as though it won't be the usual 20C+ temps today. Not running it so that probably explains it.

Pouring with rain until just before the start which didn't seems to put of many as there were over 1300 finished.
Car park fine although the path required trail shoes!
I was a long way back for the start. Ripped off bin bag and threw to the path - almost onto the head of a spectator.
Slow first mile - dodging other runners.
Picked up the pace miles 3-4
Bit of a dip at 5, 6/7/8 steady

Slowed by the huge hill at 9/10 not helped by the drizzle stopping and the sun finding a little heat
Used the down ramp to have a fast 11 (fastest mile 6:29)
Strong head wind led to 12 being slowest mile (8:27)
OK run in.
121 finish poistion (112 on chip time) Top 100 position on age grading. 11th in cat.
Good support on the bridge and, as always, through Barton.
Big race finish.
Decent medal, OK T shirt and lots of fruit at the end.
No real problems getting out of the car park.
1:35:43 (7:15 avaerage pace)

Decent time that, Mike, given the course!
