Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

james - i once ran a pb there but my time was wrong by about 10secs. I started on the front row etc, and was in the right postion, so it was obviously there fault. i was well pissed off - however i got over it and made sure i beat it the week after. End of the day its run by volunteers so i suppose it happens.

My time on my Garmin is always spot on or max a second out... like you say it is run by volunteers like you and me, so I don't feel the need to complain if it's not :-)

Glad you beat your time though Skunk :-)

When I volunteered at ParkRun a couple didn't take their tags - said they didn't want them - but the guy handing them out didn't realise how it worked so he just gave them to the next two runners that came in. I was doing the clicker so I realised that it would be out of sync and told the race director but he wasn't able to work out where the two people had come so everyone's results were out by two people. In some cases only a few seconds, in other cases a lot more. I always log my garmin time on Fetch as thats what counts for me.

As Hudds is a young ish park run I think it takes a while for people doing the jobs to get it down properly. I clicked a person who came through twice the other week and someone opicked it up quickly so it was sorted in the mix.

Anyway as we have an awesome race director tomorrow I'm sure it will be 100% bang on.

Aww thank you guys :-)

Been learning lots more this week and I can really now appreciate actually how much does go on behind the scenes on the day and through the week to make Parkrun happen

Should be a *normal* one this week and then sunglasses on for the 22nd to contend with all those HH tops :-p

If your own time is way out compared to the official parkrun time most event teams will be pleased to be told (perhaps by mail after the event, but also at the end of the day's event before they B'gger off to the cafe to process the results if you already know something is up.

Being told a correct time/position by a parkrunner helps to make sure the results are right first time and that they don't get displaced by one or two positions (or worse). It is hell when inconsiderate parkrunners refuse tokens or duck the funnel. A bit of correct info from you can really save the day. It is actually dead easy to correct the results. As long as the race director has time during the week.

Of course I don't mean by a second (or maybe two). But ten seconds is too much of a gap to be correct, and it means that everyone else's results are out as well.
