Zombie thread alert! How has this thread disappeared so completely for so long?

Anyway, my ride today was nice. Just glad to get ourdoors without being rained on.

Question for the Hive Mind: I do a lot of my pedalling time on a spin bike inthe dining room. On there it feels like a huge effort to get my HR up into the 150s. Out on the road today I felt pretty comfortable but an awful lot of the ride was over 150.

Why does the spin bike feel so much harder? It can't just be the warmer setting with no breeze can it?

On the spin bike there isn't the constant adrenaline rush of wondering whether the next car that approaches will be the one whose driver is looking at their phone rather than the road.

It could be that, V'Rap. :-)

Actually I was out early enough that there was very little traffic, although coming down Brock Hill (biggest hill on the route although you'd only count it a pimple round your neck of the woods) a coach coming the other way did seem to want the whole road. :-0

Aww dog

20 miles of road biking for me. eL Bee! came along on his mountain bike. Garmin quoted him a training load five times as big as mine.

4:30am commute at -5 degrees. I still took the scenic route along the canal and an extra loop round the nature reserve to keep my average mileage up.
