I think the only time I do a proper warm up is when I go to my running club. All other times I just shake my legs a couple of times and off I go.

Ye, I do the leg thing too, with some stretches and a 5-minute walk.

I was told it would help prevent an asthma episode so before running or cycling I have a five minute walk or easy ride. And it seems to be working.

I don't do a warm up unless you count doing a mile or two slow run before doing something quicker.

Not really. I walk out of the cul-de-sac I live in before I start my morning runs but it’s not very far.

I just get going. If it's speedwork I don't start any efforts until I've run at least a mile though.

I do a little before a “race” simply because a Physio told me that my legs should be warmed up before stretching, which I do now after the warmup. If I’m just doing a general run from home and I don’t anticipate doing any sprinting or striding then I don’t bother. |
