I have two weekends between now and my target marathon (ie 3 weeks). I reckon it's taper time. I've never done less than 3 weeks, but I know that there's a lot of consensus for two. How long do you taper for if you're one of those who gears up for a target marathon? |

I find a full 3 weeks too long. I'll start to cut back from the Thursday of that week this time round to see how I get on. |

To be fair, that's probably what'll happen with me this week. Cut the medium-long run on Thursday short. I may or may not run tomorrow. Need to see how the legs are. |

Always think P & D's plans have too many miles in them. Fetchie 'Marders' does less taper miles than most of their schedules and he's a 2.16 marathon man ![]() coolrunning.com Better taper. According to me though. Everyone is different. |

Is that not more running, fewer miles (I've only skimmed it)? I'm after a happy medium. I'm a five days a week man with a 55 mile peak. I suspect I've cut back too drastically in the past. |
