I'm staying on my friend's living room floor on Friday night in Glasgow, and am OK for a lift to the start (I think), but it's getting anywhere on the Sunday that I need help with. Staying in a B and B on the Sat. night, happy to leave whenever on Sunday.
Anyone driving out on the Sunday? Like. To any major-ish city that I could potentially catch a train to Aberdeen from! Anyone have a place in a car (or boot) that I could fill? Happy to contribute to petrol/burn a cd for entertainment/send you a Christmas card for the next few years! :D

MS there are several folk from our club doing the race and staying on the Saturday night, driving home on Sunday. I'm pretty sure there will be space in our car so you can get a lift as far as Stoney. Will work out the logistics nearer the time. The guys doing the long runs on Sat mornings are fling training. We can speak then.

Yep - what mrs s said.
We're taking the folks' motorhome (now known as the RWR Ultravan) so there's plenty of room in the back.

RWR has just beaten me to the punch - although I was going to call it the Battlebus!

Lol! Johnny Fling replied really quickly to tell me I could still book a bus - 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10pm Sat and one on Sun morning, all going back to Milngavie, trains avail from there to Glasgow Central and onward thence.

My missus is still swithering between telling me I can't drive home after 53 miles, that I just can't do 53 miles or that she'd better pick me up. I think I'll book the bus, have the train as a backup, but keep threatening to drive myself home and see if I can guilt her into picking me up! :-)G

i've driven a couple of hours home after 50 milers before...the driving is ok it's getting out of the car the other end that is the problem.

I'm bringing my family over form Ireland so they can see relatives in Ayr. I'm staying in a Glasgow hotel Friday night, taxi to start and hopefully my wife will pick me up from Tyndrum...but I am booked on a bus in case She finds something better to do on a Saturday.

I think that could be feasible G

If you'd like me to reverse the favour and give you a training plan? Here goes:

Run training distances you can't manage. Be humiliated. Come back stronger. Increase the distance. Further humiliation. Toughens you up.

Come race day then all will work out just fine and you'll catch your bus.

Lol M1nty! I'm going for: train as much as you can, get to the line as confident as possible, run/walk well within oneself, finish with a smile. :-)G
