2 miles on Monday, 4 on Tuesday and 6 with club last night, so I'm having a rest day today :-)

Just out of curiosity, what was everyone's longest training run for the fling? Should i run it again i would aim to train smarter for the event which would mean running longer long runs!

Just did 5 miles with club including a 5k trail time trial. That wasn't nice! I did it in something like 27:50 - just zero oomph in the legs at all going up hills. It was grim.
WKP and I were rocking the Fling tshirts proudly though, which gave us an excuse to be slow and sore.

Just back from a 10-miler, legs feel great. :)

Interesting question Stoosh - a few 30 milers, a 28 a 26, a marathon quite a few 15+25, 16 + 22 etc back to back, and the D33. But nothing like the 48 that FR did.

2.5 miles last night, very gingerly. 4.2 tonight. All feeling OK. Lots of swim, gentle gym, stretch, foam roller, sauna, jacuzzi etc. Amazed how ok I feel. No lost toe nails, no blisters, no walking backwards downstairs. Go figure! :-) G

Santa baby was an angel at Inversnaid. Told me to cheer the f up, at least for the pictures, and reminded me that the next section would be tough, but doesn't go on forever, so just get on with it. Brilliant. star x :-) G

Just had a look at my own log and since the start of the year i have 5x20m, 1x22, 1x23 and the London marathon but no back to backs of any real distance. Maybe a bit shy on the long runs for a 53m event but i never planned to train for it.

I worry that i'm actually trying to convince myself that ultras are a good thing for me but maybe just not yet!!

Oh boy, my legs really didn't work on that 5k time trial tonight!

My longest run pre-fling was the D33, I did a number of other long runs but not enough back to backs.
