Great to see so many enjoyed the race - it was my first real ultra and surprisingly enjoyed it although i'd actually train for it should i get round to doing it again. Got to say i loved the section coming into and out of Inversnaid, proper mountain goat country;-)
Really started to feel it in the last couple of miles when the course flattened out but managed to run right into the finish. Was good to chat to :)G in the first mile then again at the end, cracking run for you so hope your very happy with the result!!:) Think it's back to the roads again for me for a while after some rest.
Fantastic course, fantastic race and fantastic support...not much more us runners can ask for:)

FR, I think we said hi briefly near the beginning too.
I got a lovely hug at the finish from duchess and then she said 'what kept you?!', good job I knew she was joking or I really would have cried!!

Went to the pub yesterday afternoon with my running clubmates to hear their race stories. Great fun re-living it all from other points of view. It was a bit ouchy putting my work shoes on this morning - my feet are pretty swollen and blistered. Well worth it though, I'm definitely still on a runner's high

Duchess - I'll second that! Now, if only there was some sort of distinctive kit for the Fetchies to wear...
I did, however get greeted by a number of runners with "Are you Mr RedWineRunner?"...clearly I know my place - which is either at Balmaha, or handing out beer at the finish!

(Incidentally, I once again had an absolute blast of a time marshalling, helping out, and being generally inspired by all you lunatics/machines/hardcore runners!)

Some great posts on here. I had a great first half of the race, and a pretty rubbish second half. Methinks those two facts are related! Still, I crawled to the end for my fifth Fling finish in a row and live to fight another day.
Congrats to everybody taking part, whether official or running. Amazing people and an amazing day.
Quote of the day, when I was trudging into Inversnaid, Santa had her iPad out taking photos and said something like: "Smile Minty, no one comes into my checkpoint with a grumpy face!" Just had to try to smile my way to the end after that.
Lovely hug at the end Duchess. That and the soup and the beer brought me back to life
