Yip, but Johnny is between a rock and hard place. It's a great credit to him how hugely popular the Fling is, that it is so massively over subcribed. Hopefully we'll get a few folk come along as supporters and just enjoy the atmosphere - and the ceilidh (can non participants come to the ceilidh for a fee, or is that oversubscribed too?!)
I went just to spectate last year and it was awesome! Very glad I went. :-)G

Sorry if these question have been asked before but we're looking into entering but have no idea regarding logistics. Assuming a running time of say 12 to 13 hours do we: get a relatively late bus back to the start? If so, then how long is the bus journey and where would we stay in or very near Milngabie? Alternatively if we plan to overnight at Tyndrum and get the Sunday morning bus back to the start where do we stay overnight? Can we send overnight things to the finish in a drop bag? Thanks

There are shuttle buses from Tyndrum back to Milngavie (think it's on your entry, for a nominal cost).
Premier Inn in Milngavie is probably as good as any (other hotels/B&Bs available) and will probably have space on the Saturday (if not the Friday now!).
75-90 minutes travel time? - not sure, only ever done it in a car. Tyndrum is sold out (there might be a bit of camping left but that's it). Otherwise you *might* find a B&B in a nearby village if you can scrounge a lift there. A bag can be taken to the finish line, about half the runners do this. Shipping trunks are frowned upon, I can cope with most others (it usually ends up being my job to sort them out).

Duchess, many thanks for the help. When you say Tyndrum is 'sold out' apart from possibly a bit of camping left do you mean the pods, huts and cabins have all gone now and the hostel is full? Thanks again!

Yes. Kirsty who runs By The Way hostel posted on FB that she only had camping pitches left (and that was a few days ago).
