Thanks STOOSH :) Last year I had a niggle due to doing too much the week before, made worse by testing out my new head torch for a late evening foray up Arthur's Seat, that wasn't wise :(

I've just been looking at the results (and splits) from last year and it seems that the best strategy is to get to Beinglas in good shape. Then absolutely blitz the last leg to Tyndrum :)

** Note: This is really easy to type and difficult to execute :-)

Tip. Don't analyze if it's your first. Turn up, take what's thrown at you and deal with it. Only way. You cannot anticipate what's ahead. You'll feel crap, but hang in there, you'll feel good again ,you will

The good weather is back. So couldn't resist an hours easy jog before taking the family to Ipswich and watching the football with #1 son.

Great advice from Santa :)

I think Andy Cole has said more than once that any plan is immediately discarded once the enemy has been engaged.

Be flexible and most of all enjoy and take in that running the Fling is a privilege.

I get to view this race from a different perspective and sweep you all along to Rowardennan.

And don't worry about any drop bag leftovers - I'm sure I'll manage to hoover some of them up :D

Don't take away the endless over-analysis. What else do we do in taper time slowdownyoumovetoofast !?

I have 4 different spreadsheets with times, paces, lists of food, kit, drop bags. I've been visualising, dreaming, crying and screaming alternately. I think I'm ready. :-) G
