I've just finished 11 miles with club friends - feeling a lot better about next week now as my legs are finally sharpening up. I'll run Tuesday and Thursday and then that'll be it!

I had a near perfect spell of training up to about a month ago until disaster struck and I got injured messing about with the kids. I have done no training to speak of since then and probably should pull out of the Fling. Having already made the journey across the Irish Sea, as part of a holdiay planned around the Fling I am still tempted to see if I can make it to the start line and, forgetting about any target times, just get to the end and enjoy the day.....I'll have to make a decision soon and will try to complete a couple of short pain-free runs this week. I'm confident I have enough training and experience to complete the event, forgetting about times, but won't start if I think I could cause further damage.....bit of a bummer! Hope to see you all next week..staying positive!

Hope to see you there Bogman! I went to parkrun this morning - I can report that I have no speed what so ever in these legs, bring on a looooong, slow run with pals :)

My plan is to run tomorrow (Sunday) and then a real easy double session on Tuesday.

After a week in the Lakes I expected my quads to be trashed, but so far, although I've probably completed more ascent/descent in the last week that the previous three months, they feel OK. Going up Skiddaw on Friday morning my calves were a bit achy but that soon wore off.

Today's run completed, I felt really good and legs have a surprising amount of bounce/elasticity :)

I'm as ready as I will ever be, are we nearly there yet???

Nothing wrong with that FR - i've been on the drink for a week but that ended yesterday as i'm now back at work. I'm planning running most days this week before my legs fall off somewhere north of Balmaha:-o

I might run today since it's glorious sunshine here but there is also the lure of the pub!!
