They had to drop one episode from this series due to Covid-19 restrictions. They were due to film with James McEvoy in March, but then couldn't. The Subtle Knife book doesn't actually mention Asriel other than in passing, so this was extra material that was written for the tv series and was then dropped.

yes, it is actually a few snippets from book 3, I also thought that in the books, COulter doesn't go to Cittagazze, but I could be wrong.....

Without giving too much of a spoiler, she goes to Citigazze with Boreal and leaves with someone else, but much later in the story.

I was trying to explain this to my wife last night, she has only read book one and is confused by the storyline. Ruth Wilson continues to impress, must have cost a fortune to come up with her outfits.
