Great blog Dave. Was nice to meet you in Paddy's bar on fling night.

The section from Beinglas to Tyndrum was a nightmare for me last year too (first time). Think its a right of passage, infact anyone that doesn't suffer during it on their first attempt should be taken back down the route and be made to repeat it till failure! :-)

Just a wee summary from someone who was enjoying a nice chat in the carpark in Milngavie at 7am at the weekend...

I get distracted by reading all the other blogs that get written (these are great btw folks) and sometimes forget about my race and end up blogless. Hence, just getting a few thoughts down for this one.

So that's (almost) two hours quicker than my first Fling in 2010. Just another hour off for 2013 and I'll be sorted :-)

DaveM - cracking blog, but when did you run the Mordor ultra? Sounds like a great event.

And M1nty is right about the 2 out of 3 thing - it ain't bad (maybe he'll write a song about that?) ;-)

My legs have been a bit tight but less of a problem than I feared.

I have been nauseous since the race although feeling much better today.

I've been eating like a horse all week (hay anyone? another sugarlump?). That's one of the best aspects of this sort of race.

Sunday's 5 miles were a bit slower than usual for the first few miles - something about the legs I think. Actually I'm tapering for a race tomorrow evening, so haven't run since Tuesday's hill run :-)

Beware the 'normalisation' that comes with Fetch ;-)

not doing edinburgh North berwick the next day then andy?.................... * normalisation*

great blog andy and others - so many great stories of the race. Was it warm and sunny with a slight coolng breeze. ? My race was although i think i over did the cooling breeze as of the 500 only 140 finished and the race was abandoned due to mass hypothermia !
