hellen, I am not "better" than you, you would kick my feathery behind over anything more than 6 miles I reckon. But end of the year I aim to be the fastest muppet in town

girlie, I too had a rubbish run today, not sure if it was down to the stomach cramps I had all the way round or if it was going to be carp anyway. Had just managed to break the sub 10 sub 70% for runs of about an hour. today was 10 miles 10.22/mile 67%. Not a total disaster but worse than a similar run a few weeks ago before I improved my sub 70 run.

Morning All - 15.50 miles run @ Av70%HR (Av pace 10.13m/m) having run Stamford 30k on Sunday (using 70% to 85% HR throughout) all my aches from that have now gone having so far done 36miles since at 70%HR, I'm now almost ready for next race at Sleaford on 24th.
70%HR training really working for me

Wicked, have you found that this week your pace/HR has been slower than normal after your efforts at stamford?

Hellen - slightly yes BUT I've had sore thighs after Stamford, but running at 70%HR has helped me recover quicker

12 miles at 5am this morning with Joopsy. 10.12 pace and 69%. Very pleased with that. First 10 were easy then drift set in for last 2 but furthest I have run since Sept. 2nd 2007. Loved running wih someone else but fear I am turning into Gobi - I just didn't shut up!

well done lums and at 5 am that is really impressive, was it icy? My car is all frosted over this am, that would put me off going running at that time.
Wicked, My thighs were OK after stamford but when I did lecester marathon in oct which was about the same hillyness my quads and hip flexor ached from about 13 mile. My pace was way slower than I had expected (due to being told it was a flat marathon so not hill training). Since mid Nov I have been doing 20mins a week most weeks of hills on the treadmill. I think that is why I didnt suffer at stamford and why I was flying up most of the hills passing people even at the end
Another sub 70 sub 10/mile recovery run for me yesterday. Had a vouchure for free choc eggs at woolies so ran to woolies and back, there was a lot of raod crossing involved and pedestrains getting in the way so quite fustrating really.
Does anyone else find that pedestrians can no longer walk in a straight line on the pavement? IT is really difficult passing them cos they are all over the place. I think it is cos most of them seem to walk along texting!!

Totally agree about Pedestrians hellen, and working near Oxford Street it is even worse!
It was icy and I was very glad to see Joopsy turn up on time as I was freezing waiting for him! It was a great run though, barely checked garmin but whenever I did it was under 70% until the end. I don't set the beep for HR as I find it too irritating. I just hope Joopsy didn't think I was too much of a chatterbox! Well done on all the sub 10mins runs. Can't wait to get back there! I had a few miles today sub 10 but they were downhill!
