My MIL wants to treat my OH (and me) to a trip on the Orient Express for his 50th. It’s not really my kind of thing, but I’m willing to give it ago as it seems to involve champagne and 5 course meals!

Anyone have any experience of this kind of trip?

Me! Me!
I loved it - the seats are comfy, the service impeccable, the food and drink good and we were steam hauled by Flying Scotsman before it went to York to be refurbished
(We'll just forget about Flying Scotsman breaking down and having to be rescued by a diesel!)

Have you checked that this isn't just a visit to the cinema?

My parents did it in 2005 for their 40th Wedding anniversary and went to Venice for 3 days and came back on it.

They enjoyed it very much and were treated like royalty.
