Any marathon which is flat and fast. No hills, no excuses. Just 26.2 miles of unrelenting pain.

A marathon is not a marathon without a bit of pain (during or after).

Picnic Marathon.. take your standard road marathon time and add 40%.

Only time Stouty and I had a falling out after I refused to climb down some steps to assist with his cramp.. just because I would have to climb the same steps again.

If we are looking at hills Osmotherley and Wainstones marathons have got to be up there on total ascent and rough underfoot conditons and the new Roseberry Topping marathon route sound fairly horrendous

oops I've just entered Roseberry topping :-)

I thought the Giants head marathon was tough, especially the extra miles! But it's impossible to say one marathon is tougher than an other. I'm the same as Rachel, a flat marathon where there is no relief from endless pounding is hard to me.

Well I've often looked at it and thought that one day I should run up it, so now I am ;-) See you there.

Having done Snowdon I know it's hard and Beechy arguably harder since people hardly ever do sub 3. ...
