Hi all. First post so please be kind!

Did anyone else do Hampton Court Half today and did you think it was short? Seemed about half a mile short to me and to most people I talked to and heard a few mutterings about a little bit being missed off.

I was trying to get under 1:40 before end of March when my wife's due to give birth and this was my tilt at it and I was pretty much bang on pace from what I could tell and was running with the pacer guy at the end.

Bit miffed.

Yep Mel's said it was well short and one of the crapiest races she's done. Daft course with out road closures and congested pavements

I am the Mel of whom Joe speaks and yes it was truly awful. 300 people on tiny pavements, nearly half a mile short? Bad planning not on my to do again list.

Yes, very congested and not as scenic as id thought. Could live with that but the course being off is annoying.

The course was accurately measured but unfortunately we didn't run that course due (apparently) to a marshalling error. At least everyone has a new 12.77 mile pb!

Looking at the course map, the error was in the second mile where we turned onto the muddy section far too early. The two mile marker was up the bit we didn't do which explains why we didn't see it.

Far too big a field for the course they chose. I think that was the biggest problem because the short race could have been avoided but the congestion would have still been a factor. I don't think I've ever has so many near-miss trippings!

The 2015 race has sold out. If anyone was still looking to run, I may not be able to do it now so drop me an FMail.

Got something to say?
