Well that was an experience. Despite everyone telling me not to go off fast, I did. Got to halfway in 2 hrs dead, knowing I was going to pay for it later. Finished in 4:21 so ahead of prediction so pleased with that. I have learnt so much. I don't know what other marathons are like, but was well impressed with this one. The support was amazing, especially at that bit we passed 3 times, Fetchpoint was fantastic. That must be a great place to watch, seeing everyone come through fresh and smiling, then fresh and into the stride, then completely broken the 3rd time! A beautiful part of the world (if a little 'bumpy' for me). Well done all. |

I thought it was a fantastic race - brilliantly well organised, enough people for it to feel a bit sociable but without the crowds, friendly and supportive marshalls, lovely scenery. I also liked the bit near Fetchpoint - although not sure about you Stiggers, but I vaguely remember passing it four times (although I was pretty broken by the third). Was very grateful for my orange segment at Fetchpoint - thank you to whoever gave it to me.

Lovely lovely lovely race. Certainly my new favourite marathon. Fetchpoint was brilliant, really broke it up knowing they were never far away. The maeshalls and support were excellent too. best day, and a PB to boot!

Alright, alright. Enough now. I know it's a good marathon. Don't rub it in. (still pissed off at not being unable to run today) |

Well done those that did run today though. Some good times despite the heat.
