Sorry I have only just seen this, don't know if you still need replies, I have Hallux Ridgidus which is a stage further on from Hallux Limitus, I first saw someone about it in 2011, they tried to put orthotics in my shoes which just made it feel worse. I wear very thin shoes (I find stiff shoes hurt more!) I am still running three times a week. I find walking is much more painful but I run with a very short stride and land on the mid foot. I try and lift not push off. I am meant to be seeing a specialist in the next two weeks to see if anything can be done to help me but in the mean time I have managed to secure a ballot place for the London Marathon after applying for 7 years!! I hope I can put off treatment till after??

Got something to say?
