My half PB is 2:26:xx but I didn't run it all. I ran all of Brass Monkey in 2012 but got a time of 2:27:xx.

After a lack of consistent running for a number of months, I ran/walked a half last week in just under 2:33, which has given me hope that I can get a PB this year.
I've entered a couple of flat half marathons in September with the intention of running the whole distance and getting 2:25 at one of them.

Anyone else in a similar place?

I could be very tempted to be in a similar place if I find a nice HM to enter for September. Which ones are you doing?

Robin Hood half on 29th September, but I'm running with a friend so have no idea what sort of pace we'll be at by then as our aim is to run it all. So I've also entered the English half (at Warrington) on 8th September which I will do as my target race, if all goes well. There is Grunty Fen on 8th Sept which is also flat, but I like the English medal better medal

Following a sub 65 min 10k this morning, on a hilly course, I'm hopeful of a sub 2:30 half in a couple of weeks time on a relatively flat course.

I think I 'sort-of' qualify for this thread! ;-)

I ran the Bath HM in 2010 and 2011 and clocked 2:35 each time. But I got cramp in my calf after 9mls on each occasion and had to jog/walk/hobble the last few miles. The training had gone well and I hadn't had any problems so I reckon my time would have been around 2:25 without the cramp.

After getting cramp again in 2011 I vowed never to do another half-marathon again. But last October I did a hilly 10ml race in 1:49 and had no problems at all. So I've changed my mind and am planning to do 2 half-marathon's in Sep/Oct and am looking to get round in 2:25 or less.

Robin Hood half is a really nice course - I've recommenced it to loads of people and everyone who's ran it has loved it and got good times. Very well organized, excellent route, good support, great atmosphere etc. etc...

My pb is an old one of 2.15 - I would love to better that one day but I think that is a long way down the line yet.

I haven't signed up for any halves this year but I will be doing Brighton Half next year :) Gonna go for it then :)

I'm doing Tewkesbury half next week, last year I got 2:25:08, but I did 2 earlier last year and they were 2:27:04 and 2:33:08. I'm hoping for 2:25:00 again. Following a 10k race today, the race prediction was 2:14:05! Tewkesbury used to be fairly flat, but they've changed the route, and it now has quite a hilly finish - and quite a few hills all the way through, so I'm still hoping for 2:25:00.
