Sorry Si - slightly belated x-post. I was distracted by a long phone call with Occy Health.

Drops for me, always, because my carpal tunnels like the range of hand positions and because when I've got flat bars my elbows don't know where to put themselves. And drops for eL Bee!, always, because testosterone.

Ah. Testosterone. Not something that I'm overly troubled by. It's a gamma male thing.

(I should add that at the moment we neither tour nor commute by bicycle, but if we commuted we'd just use our road bikes and some touring kit for the tandem may be on the shopping list.)

Drops and a clip on for touring. Used that combination successfully as a youth on a 3000 mile Tour in Europe with my sister.

Thanks LB, that’s what I thought but couldn’t get my head around it in the touring context (clearly, with the benefit of a good night's sleep I can now see the potential for position changing).

Not sure I’d fancy a narrow tucked up frontal position with a heavily luggaged bike. How did you find that?

About This Thread

Maintained by GregP
A rusty lock-up/garage/hut in the grounds of the Hotel Bastardos, we are a small cycling club and yet also a broad church.

Pull up a chair, get a cup of tea and a slice of slightly stale cake and settle down.

Welcome to the old skool. Founded 2012.
