Angus, I actually found it very stable and controllable. The position wasn't that TT-like, and quite 'open', but it made it really comfortable on log sections where things didn't change much, and in to the wind! Great on open roads!

For commuting I always suggest flat bars. 700/29 wheels with a nice wide tyre to soak up the crappy roads.
