One of my crew for GUCR has dropped out and i'm now in need of a buddy runner to either join us for the duration of the weekend and run in the later stages OR to meet me at a point on the route and run with me for a bit. Thanks. More details if someone shows interest.

Could you share dates, distances (for the buddy runner) and running pace? Might give some people a clearer idea of whether it would be possible.

It's over late May bank holiday weekend, travelling To Birmingham on Friday 26th May. Run starts 6am on the Saturday. Would be preferable for the buddy runner to join at the 100 mile point Grand junction arms HP23 5QE for around 20 to 30 miles at around 15 - 16 minute miles.

Hi Baz. I might be able to help out (I ran the race last year). We're away this weekend - I'll need to wait until we're home to check there's nothing else in the diary that day (or night... or following night). Do you have an ETA for 100 miles (to the extent it's possible to make a sensible estimate of that distance)?

I ran last year too but only made it to CP9 133 miles. I have someone driving but clearly they can't run and drive. I have a hotel booked, food and drink would be covered if you wanted/were able to join me and Mike Abel for the duration. ETA is fairly broad 2am - 5am...but i am hiring a tracker again from racedrone.

Baz - I've just been catching up with your story from last year - must have been agonising. Although I think you saying "only" making it to 133 miles slightly undersells what you did achieve! Is Mike crewing? We finished a couple of minutes apart last year. Rosehip was a great pacer for me - although I was not very cooperative by alternating between walking and 9 minute miling 'sprints'.

Yeah Mike is crewing. The plan was for my cousin to drive and Mike to run but my cousin is unable to help out now so Mike said he'll still drive but need a buddy runner OR someone to drive so Mike can run. Think it'll be easier to get a buddy runner. As mentioned costs are covered just need someone willing to give up their time.
