I still had another 1/2 climb from the point I saw you but the downhill into Baslow involved no pedalling whatsoever. Never been as fast on a pedal bike. I got back to the car and realised Id not tightend up the front wheel nuts. It could have bee very meessy!!!!!! Nice to meet you both.

Has left me 100% certain I can now complete my marathon and I was surprised to see my easy pace on the 'flat' was 9 m/m which bodes well. Comfortable until the final climb up to Wellington monument when the legs turned from jelly to lead in quick succession.I had visions of catching Slowboy and Roo in the last 3 miles but they seemed to disappear into the distance pretty sharpish once up on the edge. Well run all and a cracking atmosphere. Great pics Kwaka
